Over the last 85 years and as Minnesota’s first health care plan, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota has paved the way for innovation in health care. As a result, we’ve stood out as a leader both locally and nationally. Now serving more than 2.6 million members, we are the largest health plan in the state. In simple terms, that means approximately one in three Minnesotans carries a Blue Cross membership card. We are proud to offer the largest network of providers and more products and services than any other plan in Minnesota.
Our Story
As Minnesota’s health care leader, we live fearless. We believe good health is for everyone— not just our members. It’s a big vision. And that means going beyond providing health coverage to deeply investing in programs and initiatives that build healthy cultures at home, at work and in the community — not just for our members but for everyone. After all, we took on big tobacco and won. We then reinvested the dollars from the tobacco settlement into community projects like Nice Ride Minnesota, the largest bike-sharing program in the country. And we’ll continue to invest to make health care better, more affordable and more accessible for everyone in Minnesota.
