About
In 1931, Frank Murphy established the high-fashion women's clothing store at the corner of 5th Street and St. Peter in downtown St. Paul. Frank Murphy grew into an iconic St. Paul retail institution known for it's couture fashion, beautiful store windows, opulent decor and legendary annual Give Away Sale. Celebrities including Carol Channing, Gloria Swanson and Carol Burnett frequented the shop and top designers like Pauline Trigere held local trunk shows there.
Krista Wolter, a North Oaks resident and successful real estate agent, has become the new owner of Frank Murphy. "It's an incredible opportunity and privilege to be able to purchase this store that has had such a special place in St. Paul's retail history. Our team is so excited to bring a revived presence of this celebrated fashion venue to the Twin Cities, through both events and our new location in downtown White Bear Lake. We look forward to once again providing one-of-a-kind clothing and an incredible shopping experience for our customers."
