Storywalk at Elmwood Park Take a pollinator storywalk at the new rain garden in bloom at Elmwood Park! Check out our new storywalk at Elmwood Park featuring the book, "The Honeybee" by Kirsten Hall... And while you're there, check out the new Elmwood Park rain garden! A rain f garden is a specially designed planting with a bowl shape to capture and filter rainwater from surrounding hard surfaces. This garden helps reduce flooding, minimize pollution, and improve water quality. Since 2021, the City of Vadnais Heights has partnered with the Vadnais Lake Area Water Management Organization (VLAWMO) to install water quality and stormwater treatment projects in city parks, including this new rain garden. Car Seat Checks Trained technicians from the Vadnais Heights Fire Department will teach you everything you need to know to make sure your car seat is fitted and installed correctly. The Vadnais Heights Fire Department performs car seat check- ups Tuesday-Thursday 8 a.m.-3 p.m. depending on staff availability.
