It's more like blowing dust around. It's hard to believe that in August we totaled nearly 7" of rain as our rain fortunes have completely taken a 180. Here in White Bear Lake we've seen the lake drop from a peak of 923 feet 3 inches on August 29 to its current 922 feet 7 inches. Smaller ponds in the area look like they've been affected more. Typically we lose about 0.2 inch a day of lake level due to evaporation or 1.4 inches a week. It adds up fast without meaningful showers.
