News & Views A bi-weekly section where readers will be informed on subjects of seasonal interest, upcoming events and other timely topics. CLERK'S CORNER - Greetings from the Township! Spring is in the air, well, every other day or so, & with that one thing comes to mind: the Annual Township meeting! The event will be held on March 10th beginning at 7 p.m. at Heritage Hall. During this meeting, Town staff & consultants will roll out a proposed prelim- inary budget for resident feedback as well as touch on proposed street improvement plans in our first-ring community. Other than that, check in with the Town's website for upcoming spring & summer events as they become avail- able. SPRING AHEAD! DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME The seasonal time change when we "spring forward" will occur on Sunday, March 8th. Daylight saving time begins at 2 a.m. which is the official hour to set all clocks ahead one hour. WHAT TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE SOD/ LAWN DAMAGE FROM THE PLOWS DUE TO SNOWSTORMS - Sod/lawn damage can happen even under the best of circumstances & care of the operators. The most common types of sod/lawn damage occur in the Town right- of-way (boulevard), which normally extends approximately 10-15 feet beyond the curb. The intent of this right-of-way is to provide room for snow storage, utilities, sidewalks & other public or Town authorized use. If damage does occur, report it on our website by visiting https://www.whitebeartownship.org/455/Re- port-It. Please note the following: Lawns that are scraped or gouged by Town equipment will be placed on a list & repaired with topsoil & seed when topsoil becomes available & staff time permits. We ask for your patience. Residents who request that the boulevard be repaired are requested to assist by watering the repaired areas. DOG LICENSES - All current dog licenses will expire on March 31st & will need to be re- WHITE BEAR TOWNSHIP newed for $30 before the end of April. The late renewal fee after May 1st is $45. Applications can be found on our website & submitted elec- tronically, by mail, or processed in-person at the Township Administration building. A copy of the current Rabies Certificate from your veter- inarian must be included with the application. SPRING TREE SALE IS IN THE FINAL WEEKS - The Township is offering a limited quantity of trees for sale at wholesale prices! Township residents ONLY Limit of five (5) trees per household For planting on private property in the Township; planting in the boulevard is not permitted No refunds or warranty Ordering can be made by mail or in person with cash, check, or credit card. Order forms can be found on our website or at Town Hall. Orders close March 15th. All credit cards will have a 3.95% processing fee added. No online order- ing. Your voice will be heard as those residents in attendance will approve the Town's Preliminary Tax Levy by vote & hear updates on Township activities as well as comments from public officials in attendance. IN MEMORIAM: We are saddened to share the recent passing of two valued former em- ployees, Bill LaBore & Reed Walstad, who each made lasting contributions during their time with White Bear Township.
