News & Views | Vadnais Heights Summer Hours at City Hall City Hall is on summer hours as follows: Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Fridays 7:00 to 11:00 a.m. These hours better accommodate the construction season as well as residents and contractors that wish to start their day early. Following Labor Day hours will resume to 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. These projects play a big role in filtering and storing stormwater runoff, while providing valuable pollinator habitat. The Adopt-a-Raingarden program is a joint effort between volunteers and Public Works staff, and is hosted by VLAWMO. Staff help provide the training and heavy lifting, and with the help of volunteers City staff are able to focus on other important tasks, like street maintenance. More information can be found at vlawmo.org/get-involved/ service-opportunities/. July 4 Workshop and Regular Council Meetings The July 4 Workshop and Regular Council meetings have been cancelled. Adopt-a-Raingarden Teams are forming to help keep the City's growing network of raingardens (and other green infrastructure) in ship shape! Join the Green Team This team is intended to coordinate and engage with community members on implementation of sustainability best practices. Registration for the Heritage Days Tournaments are open through August 19. Number of players and teams are limited, so talk to your teammates early. City-wide Sprinkling Policy Practicing "green" conservation techniques sometimes means your lawn may not be as green as you'd like-but that's OK! According to the US Drought Monitor the City is in a moderate drought area. The citywide sprinkling policy is in effect through September 15. No watering from 12:00-6:00 p.m.; even-numbered addresses can water on even dates, and odd-numbered addresses can water on odd dates outside of those hours.
