Summer is rapidly coming to a close! With the impending march of doom towards winter, there are still a few summer affirming events to look forward to! The State Fair ended with another great season, & just a few weeks from now, we will be celebrating Township Day at Polar Lakes Park. Also, the Township will be wrapping up our road improvement projects, & Public Works will be transitioning into Winter with a variety of seasonal tasks on their agenda. In the meantime, please continue to adhere to your designated irrigation days to help our low water use for this very wet spring & summer. Thanks! The day is filled with family-friendly activities including with family-friendly activities including live music, a vendor market, a car show, BINGO & more! Free admission & parking! TRASH TO TREASURE DAY: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 27 - The Township is partnering with White Bear Lake again this fall for "Trash to 27 from 7 AM to 7 PM. Residents who Treasure Day" on Saturday, September wish to participate should place items they no longer want on the curb at the end of their driveways as early as possible & clearly mark as "FREE." Treasure seekers will have the opportunity to pick up items that are designated as free. Please remove leftover items on Sunday & contact Republic Services to arrange a TOWNSHIP DAY: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20 - Join us on September bulky item pickup if needed! LAST MOVIE IN THE PARK - Bring your lawn chair or blanket & don't forget bug spray for a FREE, fun, & family- friendly movie night at Polar Lakes Park. WHITE BEAR TOWNSHIP 1858 RAMSEY COUNTY MINNESOTA CLEAN LAND & WATER EFFICIENCY REBATES ARE STILL AVAILABLE-Water Efficiency Rebates are available to White Bear Township utility customers who replace existing LEGACY products with specified water efficient products now through June 30, 2026 or until the remaining $27,525.89 is depleted. METROPOLITAN The rebate is for 100% of the pretax cost of the item, up to the maximum rebate amount allowed on eligible water efficiency products. A minimum investment of $75 for homeowners or $200 for Commercial / HOA's is required on the Irrigation Audits. Residents can get up to a maximum of $150 for Energy Star washers; $200 for Energy Star Certified Dishwashers; $200 for Water Sense toilets; $75 for Water Sense Showerheads; & $200 for Water Sense irrigation controllers; & up to $500 for Irrigation Audit by a Water Sense certified professional. GRASS CLIPPINGS-No one likes green water! Good news: everyday actions help keep our water healthy & blue. One of the simplest actions? Keeping grass clippings off streets, sidewalks, & driveways. Storm straight to local waterways. Grass clippings drains send water-& anything in its path- are high in phosphorus & nitrogen that fuel algae growth. Sweep or blow grass clippings back on the lawn for bonus moisture retention & free fertilizer. Alternatively, you can compost them, mix them into garden soil, or bring them to a county compost facility. YARD WASTE SERVICES - Republic Services will pick up yard waste until November 30, 2025 (weather permitting). It must be in compostable bags. Yard waste in standard plastic bins is prohibited by state law.
