News & Views | Vadnais Heights Join a Commission Are you looking for a way to give back to your community? Here's your chance-join a Vadnais Heights advisory commission! Commissions play an important role by studying specific topics and making recommendations to the city council. Each commission is comprised of no more than seven members, appointed by city council to serve three-year terms. Currently, the city is seeking representatives to fill the following commission seats: Park, Recreation and Trails Commission - Two seats open; Planning Commission - Two seats open; Health and Public Safety Commission - One seat open. Winter Activities Registration is now active for Winter youth and adult activities. Youth activities include Learn to Snowshoe, Dance, Basketball, Floor Hockey, and Indoor Soccer; adult activities include Learn to Snowshoe, Tai Chi Chuan, and Yoga-including a holiday yoga cleanse! Registration can be completed online at cityvadnaisheights.com/register. Red Cross Blood Drive The next Red Cross Blood Drive is Monday, December 16, at the Vadnais Heights Commons from 10am to 4pm. Appointments are required and can be made on the Red Cross app, online at redcrossblood.com or calling 1-800-RED- CROSS. f Winter Parking Rules Winter parking rules are in effect November 1 through April 1. No parking is allowed on any City street between the hours of lam and 6am. There is also no parking allowed immediately after accumulation of two inches or more of continuous snow until the street is plowed curb to curb. Violators will be ticketed and/ or towed. Holiday and Toy Drive The Community is invited to drop off donations of non-perishable food, toys, or age-appropriate items for older children up to the age of 16 at City Hall on weekdays through Thursday December 12. Barrel collections are also available at Cities Credit Union, Frandsen Bank and Trust, and at F&M Bank during their normal business hours. Monetary donations are always welcome and appreciated. If donating by check, make it payable to the Vadnais Heights Lions Club Foundation and mail to V.H. Lions Food/Toy Drive, 800 East County Road E or drop off at City Hall.
